Ryn Weaver Returns with New Music After 10 Years: 'It's Exactly Where I Left Off'

After a decade-long hiatus, alt-pop artist Ryn Weaver has released her new single "Odin St", marking her first new music in 10 years.

Weaver's debut album "The Fool" was released in 2015, which reached No. 7 on Billboard's U.S. Alternative Albums and No. 8 on Billboard's U.S. Digital Albums charts.

The new single, produced by Benjamin Greenspan and Constantine Anastasakis (p/k/a Blonder), takes its name from the Hollywood Hills street she lived on following the release of her first album. According to a press release, the track details "a wild, hedonistic time, once remembered through rose-colored glasses but now revealed as an instrumental period of self-destruction and growth."

Weaver, 32, said in a statement, "It was the house down the road from wisdom. It felt special for the 10-year anniversary of The Fool because that album can be played on a loop as repeating the cycle and running away... And I did run away to my house on Odin St. Chronologically it's exactly where I left off."

The release also states "along with being the street's namesake, Odin is also the God of Wisdom in Norse mythology."

The new single is a gritty pop track that showcases Weaver's signature dark-pop style. "Up on Odin Street / We found the heaven / Built on the wreckage of everything / Too scared to decide / Got nothing but time / To burn it to the frame, oh," she sings.

This is the "first taste" of music to come from Weaver, who has been quiet on the music front since releasing her debut album.
