The Tony-winning comedy ART is returning to Broadway for the first time this fall in a starry new revival, starring Neil Patrick Harris, James Corden, and Bobby Cannavale.
Directed by Tony nominee Scott Ellis (Take Me Out), the limited-run production will begin previews on August 28 at the Music Box Theatre in New York City and officially open on September 16. The 17-week engagement is currently scheduled to wrap up on December 21.
ART follows three longtime friends whose relationship is pushed to the brink when one of them spends a fortune on a stark, all-white painting. What starts as a simple disagreement over art quickly turns into a hilarious, high-stakes battle over friendship, pride, and perception.
The play, which was translated from French by Academy Award winner Christopher Hampton, was first performed on Broadway in February 1998 in a production starring Alan Alda, Victor Garber, and Alfred Molina. It was nominated for three Tony Awards, winning Best Play.
Over the course of 600 performances and 20 previews, ART welcomed a slew of other actors including Brian Cox, Judd Hirsch, Wayne Knight, Joe Morton, and the late George Wendt (among others). It closed in August 1999.
Producer Michael Shulman said in a statement, "Ever since I first saw the original production, it has been etched into my mind as a hysterical and moving portrayal of friendship, compromise, and the power of art to change perspectives."

Tickets for ART go on sale Friday, May 30. A presale begins Thursday, May 29 for those who sign up online.

Neil Patrick Harris, James Corden, and Bobby Cannavale are all veterans of the stage and screen. This is the first full Broadway production Harris has done since 2014's Hedwig and the Angry Inch, which won him his Tony Award. Corden, too, hasn't been on the boards since One Man, Two Guvnors in 2012, the play that earned him theater's highest honor.
Cannavale, meanwhile, is a two-time Tony nominee — for his featured performance in 2008's Mauritius and his leading performance in 2011's The Motherf----- with the Hat.
