Rod Stewart Cancels Las Vegas Residency Show Due to Illness, Assures Fans He's Not Retiring

Rod Stewart, 80, was forced to cancel his show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 1, just hours before the scheduled start time. The legendary singer took to his Instagram Stories to inform his fans about the cancellation, apologizing for the inconvenience" and reassuring them that the show would be rescheduled for June 10.

Stewart's representative did not provide further comment on the matter. This cancellation comes ahead of Stewart's highly-anticipated performance at Glastonbury in the UK later this month, where he will be joined by Ronnie Wood for a Faces reunion.

In addition to his Glastonbury performance, Stewart has a number of shows lined up for his One Last Time World Tour, as well as a residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace through the fall.

Last month, Stewart was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 American Music Awards. In August 2024, he was forced to cancel a few shows in Las Vegas due to strep throat and COVID.

Stewart spoke about his One Last Time farewell tour, saying, "This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire." He expressed his desire to move on to a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next, with smaller venues and more intimacy.

Stewart has been open about his health, saying, "I love what I do, and I do what I love. I'm fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79."
