Keyshia Cole Sympathizes with GloRilla Over DUI Arrests: 'Girl, Me Too'

R&B icon Keyshia Cole has opened up about her own experiences with driving under the influence (DUI) and how she relates to the rapper GloRilla, who was arrested on DUI charges in April 2024.

In a recent episode of Angela Yee's Way Up radio show, Cole recalled getting arrested for DUI and sympathized with GloRilla, saying "Girl, me too."

Cole shared that she got signed to a record label at the age of 21 and got a DUI. She said, "I was talking to GloRilla and I was like, 'Cause you did get a DUI.' She was like, 'Yeah, yeah. I got a DUI.' I was like, 'Girl, me too. It's okay.' When I was young, man."

Cole also shared her own story of getting arrested for DUI in 2002. She said, "I was listening to Tupac, and the police pulled me over and said, 'See? That's why you're going to jail right now, listening to Tupac.' It was still loud, and I was getting out of the car, like, it was my birthday. That day was my birthday."

The R&B singer reflected on the lessons she learned from the experience, saying, "That's a lot of my lessons that I learned early on, the fighting and getting sued."

Elsewhere in the conversation, she spoke about her feelings towards the rapper GloRilla, who debuted a song sampling Cole's classic hit "Love" in her set at Coachella in April. Cole said, "I like Glo. She reminds me of me. She's little, petite, crazy, talk s---, funny. She's so cute, and I like the way she be rapping. So, she's cool."

Cole is currently gearing up to embark on a North American arena tour to celebrate her beloved 2005 debut album, The Way It Is, kicking off July 1 in Baltimore.
