The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, the iconic film based on Ann Brashares' young-adult novel, celebrated its 20th anniversary on June 1. Although the stars didn't publicly commemorate the milestone, they have consistently celebrated their bond on and off screen over the years.
The film follows four lifelong friends who remain connected by a shared pair of jeans as they go their separate ways for the first time one summer. The quartet, including Blake Lively, America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel, and Amber Tamblyn, have reminded fans that they're as close as their onscreen characters Bridget, Carmen, Lena, and Tibby, respectively.
In January 2024, Ferrera told PEOPLE, "We have a Sisterhood [group] text that's been going for 20 years... we've all had kids. We've all gotten married. We were at each other's weddings. We've been through a lot of life together."
The month prior, Lively, Tamblyn, and Bledel rallied around Ferrera during a screening of her summer-blockbuster movie Barbie. Tamblyn captioned an Instagram post at the time, "We got ready together, picked out outfits and jewelry and handbags together (aka raided Blake's closet), ate dinners together, and drove together to celebrate our favorite sister, @americaferrera and her brilliant performance in Barbie."
In 2020, Lively told PEOPLE that her "incredible" co-stars were "three women who I met when I was 16 years old and I've been lucky to call them my friends and mentors ever since."
More recently, Ferrera, Tamblyn, and Bledel shared a joint statement voicing support for the Gossip Girl alum after she filed a sexual-harassment complaint against Justin Baldoni, and alleged that he engaged in misconduct during the production of their movie It Ends with Us.
