Ariana Biermann and Riley Burruss are planning to "parent trap" their mothers, Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kandi Burruss, amid their longtime feud.

At the Next Gen NYC premiere party on June 2, Ariana told PEOPLE that she and her childhood friend Riley are working to bridge the longstanding rift between their mothers, Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kim Zolciak and Kandi Burruss. Riley and Ariana, who grew up on RHOA together until their parents' rift separated them, will both star in Next Gen NYC.

Ariana hopes the new show will serve as common ground for her and Riley's mothers, she tells PEOPLE. From there, the two daughters have a plan for reconciliation.

"We want to 'parent trap' them, is what we keep on saying, and make them rekindle [their] friendship," she says. "We're not going to tell them and we're just going to show up and everyone's going to come in. Everybody's going to work it out."

Their mothers, Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kandi Burruss, have had a tumultuous relationship after multiple feuds. The two mothers fell out with each other multiple times, initially over their song "Tardy for the Party," which Zolciak sang and Burruss wrote. The conflict led to Burruss filing a suit against Zolciak, claiming she wasn't given proper credit (creatively and financially) for her work on the song. Zolciak eventually got the lawsuit dismissed.

They later feuded in 2018 when Zolciak accused Burruss and her husband of being swingers, and that Burruss once propositioned her for oral sex. Burruss vehemently denied these accusations.

Next Gen NYC, which debuted on June 3, follows the group of friends — most of whom grew up on-screen — as they navigate adulthood in their early 20s. The show also features Gia Guidice (daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Guidice), Brooks Marks (son of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Meredith Marks), Ava Dash (daughter of music mogul Damon Dash), and Biermann’s boyfriend Hudson McLeroy, as well as Emira D'Spain, Georgia McCann, Charlie Zakkour and Shai Fruchter.

Next Gen NYC airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
