Aisha Tyler, who plays Dr. Tara Lewis on the long-running crime drama Criminal Minds: Evolution, has revealed a fun tradition she shares with her female costars to unwind from the show.
Tyler opened up about the girls-only festivities, where the rosé is flowing and the gossip is piping hot, during an interview with PEOPLE in 10.
"Hot Tub Wine Machine" Tradition
"The girls have this thing called 'Hot Tub Wine Machine' where just the four of us get together and sit in Kirsten's hot tub and drink rosé all day," Tyler said, revealing how she, Kirsten Vangsness (Penelope Garcia), A.J. Cook (Jennifer "JJ" Jareau), and Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss) let loose while not on set.
"Here is some tea," Tyler teased. "We drink a lot of rosé and things get a little messy, and we just want to keep that between us girls."
Adam Rodriguez Left Out of the Fun
Tyler also revealed which costar is "very upset" to not be invited to the "Hot Tub Wine Machine" hangs.
"Adam is very angry that he is not a regular attendant," Tyler said of Adam Rodriguez, who plays Luke Alvez on the series.
"He has lodged a formal complaint with management," she joked.
Working with Criminal Minds: Evolution Castmates
Tyler gushed about working with her Criminal Minds: Evolution castmates.
"I wish I had some dirt for you, but this is such an easy group of people to work with," she answered when asked who was the hardest costar to boss around when she goes behind the camera to direct episodes.
The prime example of that? Tyler revealed that the cast has a group chat that she hilariously called "pretty annoying" because it's just everyone telling each other how much they love them and how amazing they are.
Matthew Gray Gubler's Return
Tyler also teased if Matthew Gray Gubler could make another return as Dr. Spencer Reid.
Gubler played his fan-favorite character for all 15 seasons of Criminal Minds' run on CBS from 2005 to 2020 but didn't return when the show came back in 2022 under its new title, Criminal Minds: Evolution.
Fans were delighted to see him make a cameo in the May 22 episode — and Tyler is keeping her lips sealed on if he could pop up again.
"I can't tell you that! You tried it!" she teased. "I can't even talk to my family about what's going on with him. I'm sworn to secrecy. I love Matthew so much."
New episodes of Criminal Minds: Evolution stream Thursdays on Paramount+.
