Kiyan Anthony, the 18-year-old son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony and TV personality La La Anthony, is getting ready to start his freshman year of college at Syracuse University, his father's alma mater. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Kiyan shares that despite his parents' celebrity status, they still manage to embarrass him.
"Oh, they still do [embarrass me]," Kiyan admits. "They post a lot of videos that I don't want them to post. But it's all good. It's all jokes. They see me more than anybody, so they got all the funny videos of me, and sometimes they like to troll and post it."
Kiyan will soon be leaving the nest, and his mom La La is taking it hard. "She's already crying every day," Kiyan says, adding that he's trying to spend quality time with her before he leaves. "My mom works a lot, so it's definitely taking a toll on her."
Meanwhile, Carmelo will be making frequent trips to Syracuse to support Kiyan. "He's going to be back and forth from my school and back home," Kiyan says. "So I'll be seeing him a lot more."

Following in his father's footsteps at Syracuse means everything to Kiyan. "It means a lot. It actually means everything. That was a huge part of my decision to go to Syracuse, so him being over there twenty-something years ago and then me coming, trying to follow his footsteps definitely means a lot, and I'm looking forward to see what comes with it."
