John Mayer is single and ready to mingle! During a live taping of the 'SmartLess' podcast, presented by SiriusXM on June 12, the singer-songwriter opened up about his single life and his dating preferences.

Mayer, 47, joked that he's a single person and a catch, but also revealed that he's "absolutely" looking forward to getting married one day. The "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" singer clarified that he's developed a "good filtration system" and realized that when the right person comes along, it'll be "easy."

When asked about his dating life, Mayer said, "I would not date someone if it didn't have the upward mobility of becoming a marriage... every girlfriend would be a potential wife at this point." He also emphasized the importance of vulnerability in dating, saying that "vulnerability is the s---" and that younger people need to get a head start on being more vulnerable.

Mayer also performed a medley of hits during the podcast, including "No Such Thing" with Sean Hayes joining him on vocals.

The episode of 'SmartLess' will be released exclusively to subscribers on July 24, airing first on SiriusXM Stars and then available on demand in the SiriusXM app and to SiriusXM Podcasts+ subscribers in Apple Podcasts. It will be released wide on July 31.
