Mariska Hargitay received the ultimate birthday gift from her husband Peter Hermann, which was captured in her directorial debut "My Mom Jayne". The heartwarming moment premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 13 in New York City.
The documentary, which explores Hargitay's life and legacy of her late mother, features the surprise gift at the end of the film. Hargitay arrives at a storage unit in Los Angeles, only to find the refurbished piano, her husband, and their three children waiting.
Hargitay, who turned 60 in January 2024, had been trying to track down her mother's piano, which was previously owned by singer Engelbert Humperdinck. Her husband's surprise was a culmination of months of effort to acquire the piano.
The documentary premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 13, held at Carnegie Hall, a venue that Hargitay's mother had always dreamed of playing.
My Mom Jayne is set to premiere on June 27 on HBO and Max. Don't miss out on this heartwarming story. Watch the trailer now.
