Jensen Ackles is singing the praises of his Countdown costar Eric Dane, calling him "a total stud" after working together on the new Prime Video show.
Ackles, 47, spoke highly of Dane at the show's premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 18, telling PEOPLE exclusively that Dane "has such a command of scenes and the set just in his stillness and how just his quiet leadership, and it's something that he brings from off set too."

Dane, 52, made his first red carpet appearance since revealing his ALS diagnosis in April, and Ackles was full of admiration for his costar's quiet leadership on set.
"There's just a quiet leadership to him that I truly learned from," Ackles said. "So to get to mix it up with him on screen, I had to bring it."

Dane plays Nathan Blythe on the show, and his costars were full of praise for his leadership qualities. Actress Violett Beane, who stars alongside Dane, called him a "phenomenal man" and said she was grateful to have him on set.
Series creator Derek Haas also spoke highly of Dane's leadership qualities, saying they were evident from their first meeting. "If you spend five minutes with that guy, he is a leader," Haas said. "He's very intelligent... when he speaks, you close your mouth and you listen."

Dane's appearance at the premiere comes after he revealed his ALS diagnosis in April, saying he was "grateful" for his family as he "navigates this next chapter."
