The 'RuPaul's Drag Race' icon will step into the shoes of first lady Mary Todd Lincoln in the Tony Award-winning comedy Oh, Mary!, which has extended its limited run at the Lyceum Theatre through January 4, 2026.
Jinkx Monsoon, who is currently starring in Pirates! The Penzance Musical, will join the cast of Oh, Mary! on August 4, playing the title role of Mary Todd Lincoln. Monsoon's limited eight-week run will wrap on September 27.
Original star Cole Escola, who created, wrote, and originated the role of Mary Todd Lincoln, will depart the show on June 21. Following Escola's exit, Emmy-nominated actor Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) will step into Oh, Mary! for six weeks starting June 23.
Speaking about their casting, Monsoon sung Escola's praises. "Now — I've said it before and I'll say it again: Cole Escola is the funniest person alive," the drag superstar said. "Oh, Mary! is one of the best, funniest, most energizing things I've seen in my life."
Monsoon added, "To be invited to live in this playground for a time is not only an honor and a privilege, but a lovely chance to showcase the writing talents of one friend, the directorial talents of another, and everything else that comes with this singular production. Happy to trade in one pair of bloomers for another."
The show's other original cast members, including Conrad Ricamora, James Scully, Bianca Leigh, and Tony Macht, will remain through at least August 2.

Oh, Mary! is currently stars Cole Escola, who created, wrote and originated the role of Mary Todd Lincoln. The play imagines what would happen if President Lincoln's assassination wasn't exactly a bad thing for his insufferable wife.
Earlier this month, Escola won a 2025 Tony Award for their performance in Oh, Mary! Director Sam Pinkleton also nabbed a Tony, for Best Director.
