Director Kevin Smith has unearthed a treasure trove of striking set photographs from the 1999 cult classic film Dogma, featuring a then-unknown Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Salma Hayek, Alanis Morissette, Chris Rock, and other iconic stars. The photos, taken by unit photographer Darren Michaels, are now on display in New York City and Los Angeles and available for purchase.

Smith, who recently reclaimed the rights to Dogma after a tense standoff with producer Harvey Weinstein, is thrilled to share these memories with the public. "These are set photographs, and it's so nice to see people treat them like high art," he says.

The black-and-white images showcase the cast in their early days, with Ben Affleck looking particularly youthful. "You look in the pictures, and Matt Damon looks like Matt Damon's daughter, he's so young!" Smith exclaims.

Salma Hayek, who played Serendipity in the film, recently marked the film's anniversary on Instagram, writing, "It's been 25 years since Dogma hit theatres - and what a wild, unforgettable ride it was."

Alan Rickman, who starred in the film, passed away in 2016. One of Smith's favorite photos is of Rickman alongside the film's life-sized, masses-friendly, thumbs-upping corporate logo version of Jesus called the "Buddy Christ."

The images are so evocative and nostalgic that a plan was devised to put a selection of Dogma photos on exhibit and for sale at the famed Morrison Hotel Gallery's high-profile outposts in New York City and Los Angeles.

Though the public exhibits have concluded, several photographic prints remain available for purchase via the Morrison Hotel Gallery's website.
