Prime Video's hit series Reacher has cast Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette as Jacob Merrick, a small-town policeman, in its upcoming fourth season. The news was reported by Deadline, and PEOPLE has reached out to reps at Prime Video for comment.
Rodriguez-Marquette, known for his roles in RZR and Barry, steps into the role after Jay Baruchel initially cast but had to back out due to a personal matter.
The fourth season of Reacher is set to adapt Lee Child's 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow, which follows the story of Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson. Ritchson confirmed the news on Instagram earlier this month, quoting a line from the book: "The thing about subway cars is you step on one and you never know what's going to happen."

Rodriguez-Marquette's acting credits date back to the mid-90s, with roles in Aliens in the Family, The Mummy series, Joan of Arcadia, and Strong Medicine. He has also made appearances in shows like Beverly Hills, 90210, Law & Order, and Lucifer.
Reacher was renewed for a fourth season before the third season even premiered. Production is currently underway, with an official premiere date yet to be announced.
In other news, former U.S. President Joe Biden accidentally crashed the Reacher set as the show was filming in Philadelphia earlier this month. Alan Ritchson shared a photo with Biden on Instagram, saying: "Was a privilege and honor to meet the Biden family. They couldn't have been more lovely. Kind, joyful, gracious and present."
