John Krasinski has expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming spinoff of The Office, titled "The Paper," and is even open to reprising his iconic role as Jim Halpert.

In an interview with Extra, Krasinski praised the spinoff's concept and its lead actor, Domhnall Gleeson, saying, "He's going to be so perfect for it." He also gave a resounding "done!" when asked if he'd be interested in making an appearance on the series.

Gleeson has received approval from not only Krasinski but also Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott in the original series. Carell said of Gleeson, "He's an excellent actor," and even gave his seal of approval when Gleeson reached out to him before taking on the role.

The Paper, which premieres in September on Peacock, follows Ned, a publisher trying to revive a historic Toledo newspaper, The Truth Teller. The show also stars Sabrina Impacciatore, Oscar Nuñez, Chelsea Frei, and more.

Meanwhile, Carell seems less interested in making an appearance on the spinoff, "I will be watching but I will not be showing up... It's just a new thing and there's really no reason for my character to show up in something like that."
