Candice King is encouraging fans to pay close attention to the details in the new Prime Video series, We Were Liars, based on E. Lockhart's novel of the same name. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, King reveals that the writers of the show have included "Easter eggs" throughout the eight episodes.
King, who plays one of the three Sinclair sisters, tells PEOPLE, "I'm a Taylor Swift girlie, so I love all Easter eggs in every form. So when everyone watches We Were Liars, you're going to have to watch it a second time to see if you can catch all the Easter eggs the writers left for you."
The psychological thriller follows King, Caitlin Fitzgerald, and Mamie Gummer as the three Sinclair sisters, whose children are the titular "Liars." When the eldest grandchild, Cadence (Emily Alyn Lind), suffers a traumatic head injury on the prestigious family's summer island, she works to piece together what happened.
King calls the show "chaotic" and notes there is "a lot of family drama to unpack," but behind the scenes, the cast's dynamic was the exact opposite. King bonded with her on-screen sisters, Mamie Gummer and Caitlin Fitzgerald, over a trip to Walmart to buy summer toys for their kids.
King also praises her on-screen daughter, Esther McGregor, was a "magical fairy" who brought joy to the set. As for their characters, King admits that the only word she has to describe their relationship is "cutting."
