Tina Knowles, the mother of Solange and Beyoncé, took to Instagram to pay tribute to her daughter on her 39th birthday, praising her for always defending the underdog and telling the truth, even when it hurts.
In a heartfelt message, Tina reminisced about Solange's teenage years, gushing about her creativity and constant expression of opinions, disappointments, and joys. "You brought so much joy and laughter and you ran the house," Tina wrote. "Always expressing openly your opinion, your disappointment, and your joy when things were right! Always defending the underdog and always telling the truth even when it hurt! Always creating ART in one way or another."
Tina also shared a black-and-white photo of Solange, captioning it, "39 years ago today! I was waiting in anticipation for you to come and join our family. Of course, I had to go to the Hospital because in true Solange style, you decided you would come when you got good and damn ready! They induced me and you finally came and my life was never the same again."

The fashion designer and author of the memoir "Matriarch" went on to praise Solange for her creativity, calling her a "rare creation of Art." She also commended her for being a great mom to her son, Daniel Julez J. Smith Jr.
"I love you so much my beautiful, brilliant, smart, talented, kind, sensitive, strong baby Girl!," Tina concluded the post. "Please enjoy your day! Today I celebrate the day you changed my life! Happy Birthday."
Tina also shared a photo of Solange and her son embracing, captioning it, "This sums up my babies Happy Birthday my baby @solangeknowles and love to her baby @iamjulezjsmith."
