Get ready for a wild ride with Netflix's new documentary anthology series "Trainwreck" takes a deep dive into some of the most bizarre and messy events that dominated mainstream media. The series, which premieres on June 10, will explore eight different stories, including the infamous 2013 "poop cruise" that left 4,000 passengers stranded on a Carnival Triumph cruise ship with no power, refrigeration, lighting, air-conditioning, or functioning toilets.
The "poop cruise" episode, which airs on June 24, promises to shed new light on the chaos that erupted on board, including raw sewage leaks, dwindling food supplies, and passengers revolting against the cruise company. A new trailer for the episode features actual footage from the scene of the crisis, as well as firsthand accounts from passengers who lived through the nightmare.
The trailer gives a glimpse into the chaos, with one voiceover saying, "It was terrifying." Another passenger is heard saying, "s---. The ship is on fire! What the f--- is happening on this ship?"
But before viewers can dive into the "poop cruise" episode, the June 10 pilot will examine a different event: the crowd surge that killed eight people at the 2021 AstroWorld Music Festival, often referred to as the AstroWorld Tragedy.
Throughout the summer, "Trainwreck" will go on to examine seven other situations that captivated media attention, from the bizarre 2009 "Balloon Boy" case to the memorable 2019 attempt to "storm Area 51."
Other episodes will delve into political scandals, media hoaxes, cult-like corporations, and reality TV disasters. The series promises to tell the stories from the perspective of those who lived through the events.
