Scarlett Johansson, the renowned actress, has revealed that she requested her executive producer credit to be removed from the upcoming movie Thunderbolts, as she wasn't involved in the project.

Johansson made this statement in an interview with David Harbour for Interview magazine. The actress, who played the role of Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stated that she wasn't involved in Thunderbolts and hence, didn't want to take the credit for it. Harbour, who stars in Thunderbolts, congratulated Johansson for being an executive producer, which led to this revelation.

Johansson's last appearance in the MCU was in the 2021 movie Black Widow, which was a prequel released after her character's death in Avengers: Endgame (2019). The actress has moved on to other projects, including the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth, and has even made her directorial debut with the film Eleanor the Great, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last month.

In the same interview, the actress also spoke about the commitment required for Marvel movies, stating that some films engaged her character more than others. She mentioned that in some films, the cast was enormous, and there was so much plot to serve that you start to feel like you're a device to move it along.

Johansson also expressed her interest in directing an MCU movie in the future, stating that she believes there is a way to do it while maintaining the integrity of the idea of human connection, family, disappointment, and all the themes that were present in the Great.
