Kordell Beckham, the 22-year-old reality star, is making his acting debut in the new series, Southern Fried Rice, from Keke Palmer's network, KeyTV. The news was announced on June 11, and Beckham shared his excitement on Instagram, saying it's his "scripted series debut.

Beckham, who won season 6 of Love Island USA with his girlfriend Serena Page, will star alongside Page Yang in the series, which follows a Gen-Z Asian American girl, Koko (Yang), who was "raised from birth by Southern Black parents as she struggles to defend and redefine her identity after being accepted into a popular Historically Black College and University (HBCU)," according to the official logline.

Beckham will play Steve, a "carefree, artsy intellectual who marches to the beat of his own drum, literally as a music major." His character is also described as having a "handsome face and unique style."

Deadline was the first to report the news, and Beckham's girlfriend, Serena, celebrated the announcement on her Instagram Stories, saying, "And this is just the first one announced . Baby got more cooking up."

Several other Love Island USA alums, including JaNa Craig and Kaylor Martin, also congratulated him on his post.

Beckham's new acting gig means he won't be part of the main cast of the upcoming Love Island USA spinoff, Beyond the Villa, which premieres on July 13 on Peacock.
