Sabrina Carpenter Reveals Why She Didn't Stretch Out Her Short n' Sweet Era

Sabrina Carpenter is set to release her new album 'Man's Best Friend' on August 29, and the pop star has revealed why she decided not to wait years to release another album.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Carpenter emphasized that "there's no rules" when it comes to album releases. The 26-year-old singer explained that she could have stretched out her Short n' Sweet era for much longer, but she's at a point in her life where she's like, "Wait a second, there's no rules."

The "Espresso" hitmaker further explained that if she's "inspired to write and make something new," she would rather do that. "Why would I wait three years just for the sake of waiting three years? It's all about what feels right. I'm learning to listen to that a lot more, instead of what is perceived as the right or wrong move," said Carpenter.

The pop star is currently tuning out other people's opinions and is excited about her forthcoming album. "I'm living in the glory of no one hearing it or knowing about it, and so I can not care. I can not give a f--- about it, because I'm just so excited," Carpenter said.

Carpenter surprised music fans by announcing the release of her seventh studio album on Wednesday, June 11. "My new album, 'Man's Best Friend' is out on August 29, 2025," she wrote on Instagram. "I can't wait for it to be yours x Pre-order now."
