In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, bestselling author Abby Jimenez shared her unorthodox approach to writing her books - she writes them all on her phone.

Jimenez, known for her romance novels, including "Just for the Summer", stated that she has written all eight of her books on her phone, using the Google Docs app. She explained that this approach allows her to write whenever and wherever inspiration strikes, even if it's in the grocery store or floating on a lake.

The author, who has partnered with Sonic and nonprofit First Book to provide books to young readers, emphasized that there are no rules to writing, and one should write in a way that feels organic to them. She also shared that some of her most iconic scenes were written on her phone, including a passage from "Just for the Summer" that she came up with while watching her husband bag groceries.

Jimenez's unconventional writing method has sparked both amazement and disbelief among her fans. While some have praised her for writing on her phone, others have been inspired by her approach and have realized that there are no rules to writing.
