Teresa Giudice, one of the original cast members of Real Housewives of New Jersey, has finally opened up about the infamous table flip that made her a household name 16 years ago.

The reality TV star recently appeared on her daughter Gia Giudice's podcast, Casual Chaos, where she shared her side of the story. According to Teresa, she was getting along with Danielle Staub, her castmate and nemesis, before the explosive argument that led to the table flip.

"Danielle was made for TV," Teresa said. "She was fun and easygoing, just so much fun, even though in the beginning, she was a little insulting. That's what made me flip the table on her."

Teresa explained that Danielle would often throw jabs at her, which she would take until she reached her breaking point. "I take it, I take it, I take it, and then when I don't take it anymore, I explode," she said.

The table flip, which has become an iconic moment in Housewives history, is something that Teresa has struggled with over the years. During BravoCon 2023's Housewife2Housewife: Day One Diva panel, she admitted that the adrenaline of the moment didn't last long.

"Let me tell you the truth: after I did it, I was like, 'Oh my God, what did I just do?' " Teresa recalled. "Like, I wasn't proud of it. I really wasn't. That was the first time I ever did that. I got that mad."

However, Teresa has since embraced the moment, even though she wishes she had smiled in the infamous photo instead of looking angry. "Everyone loves it, so I've embraced it," she said.

In 2022, Carlos King, the producer of Real Housewives of New Jersey, revealed that he had told Teresa that she would become an icon after the table flip incident.
