Sarah Jessica Parker has opened up about her iconic Sex and the City character, defending Carrie Bradshaw against criticism and praising her relatable flaws.
In the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Parker, 60, reflected on her experience playing Carrie, saying she admired the character's "candor" and "curiosity about sex and sexual politics."
Despite criticism from fans, Parker believes Carrie is more than her poor decisions. "She's also been hugely loyal, decent, reliable, a really good friend, generous, available, present, comforting, giving of herself in big, in small ways."
Reprising her role as Carrie in the spinoff series And Just Like That..., Parker acknowledged that Carrie matures over time. "There wouldn't really be a show if she had been a more stellar, consistently stellar human being. That's it. The end."
