Jack Innanen Reveals the Wild Truth About That Raw Chicken Dinner Party Episode on 'Adults'

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Jack Innanen, the breakout star of the FX series 'Adults', dishes on the behind-the-scenes secrets of the show and his hopes for season 2.

The Raw Chicken Dinner Party Episode

Innanen, who plays Paul Baker on the show, revealed that the cast was actually served raw chicken during the filming of the wild dinner party episode. "Disgusting," he said, recalling the experience. "I don't do well with raw meat, and I was for real gagging a decent amount of the shoot. That was foul."

However, Innanen noted that Charlie Cox, who played Billie's boyfriend Andrew, was given gelatin instead of raw chicken since he had to eat it on camera. The hardest part of shooting the scene, Innanen said, was keeping a straight face, especially with Cox's energetic performance.

The Season 1 Finale and Hopes for Season 2

Innanen also discussed the season 1 finale, which saw his character, Paul Baker, getting hitched to Anton (Owen Thiele) in a surprise twist. "I think what came across really beautifully is that Anton sees Paul Baker and I don't think Issa quite sees him how they see each other," he said of the new dynamic.

Innanen expressed his hopes for a season 2, saying, "There's so much to explore there. The fact that Paul and Anton really see each other, I don't see that ever going away."
