Randy White, the loving partner and rock of Grand Ole Opry star Lorrie Morgan, has sadly passed away at the age of 72 after a brave battle with mouth cancer. The country singer's husband died in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 1, according to a statement shared with PEOPLE from Morgan's friend and manager, Tony Conway.

"Randy has been my partner and my rock for 17 years. Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever," Morgan said in a heartfelt tribute to her late husband.

Morgan's son, country singer Jesse Keith Whitley, also paid tribute to White on Facebook, saying, "We will miss you always and forever and our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you have fought one helluva fight RanMan!"

White, a former entrepreneur, owned a successful landscaping business and was a graduate of Hendersonville High School. He was married to Morgan in a private beachside ceremony in September 2010.

In April, Morgan canceled her upcoming performances due to White's health issues. At the time, a representative for the singer said that he was undergoing treatment for mouth cancer and had been readmitted to a hospital in Middle Tennessee.
