Get ready for a glamorous face-off in the upcoming sequel to the 2006 film, The Devil Wears Prada. Emily Blunt, who played Emily Charlton in the original film, has shared some details about the new movie, including a potential rivalry between her character and Meryl Streep's Miranda Priestly.
"Why are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do?," Blunt said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "We always have beef with each other. I don't know what it is. Let's hope we remedy it. I'm not sure."

The Devil Wears Prada sequel is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 1, 2026. According to Variety, the movie will follow Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and faces off against Blunt's character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.
The movie may also incorporate plot points from the book sequel, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, which was released in 2013. The novel takes place nearly a decade after the original and sees Andy and Emily come together as top magazine editors when Miranda comes sneaking back into Andy's life.

Blunt also shared that her daughters, Hazel, 11, and Violet, 9, whom she shares with husband John Krasinski, are excited to visit her on set. "I think they would quite like to go to set. Just for the fashion," Blunt said.
