Teresa Giudice Abruptly Ends Interview on Live TV After Being Questioned About Her Family Not Paying Taxes

Published: June 20, 2025

Teresa Giudice, the reality star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, suddenly ended a live interview with a local Chicago news station on Friday, June 20, after being asked about her family's history of not paying taxes.

The anchor, Larry Potash, asked Teresa, "How is it that a family doesn't pay their taxes for years?" Teresa responded, "What family are you talking about?" and Potash clarified, "I'm talking about your family. Isn't that what the fraud charges were?"

Teresa, visibly upset, immediately declared that she was "hanging up" and ended the call. As her screen went black, Potash quipped, "She didn't like that question."

This is not the first time Teresa has been in the news for legal issues. In 2014, she and her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, were found guilty of mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. Teresa served 11 months in prison, and Joe served 41 months. They separated after 20 years of marriage.

In March, it was reported that she and her current husband, Luis "Louie" Ruelas, owed a total of $3 million in taxes. Her daughter, Gia Giudice, addressed the news, stating that her mom has been working hard to provide for her sisters and that everything will be fine.

Despite the controversy, Teresa's daughter, Gia, has expressed her support for her mom, saying, "My mom has been the sole provider for my sisters and I since the minute my father left for prison." Gia added that her mom has been working hard to ensure a stable life for her family.

Teresa's current husband, Louie Ruelas, has also been working to resolve the tax issues. Gia stated, "Everything will be resolved. My mom has everything under control, and there's nothing to worry about."
