Chet Hanks, the son of legendary actor Tom Hanks, has opened up about what it was like working with his father on the music video for his new song "You Better Run". In an appearance on Today, Chet jokingly referred to his dad as a "real prima donna" before quickly adding, "I'm just kidding. He's the most easygoing dude ever. Love you, Dad."
Chet's collaborator, Drew Arthur, also shared his experience working with Tom Hanks, saying, "It was funny because I had to do a scene before him, and he's just standing there. I was like, 'Tom was waiting for me.'"
In the music video for "You Better Run", Chet pays homage to his father's most iconic role, recreating a variety of scenes from Forrest Gump that culminate in Tom joining him sitting on the legendary bench from the 1994 film.

Chet Hanks' Music Career Takes Off
Chet's joint musical effort with Drew Arthur, Something Out West, has been gaining momentum since the pair signed a record deal with Big Machine Records earlier this year. According to their official website, "Something Out West was born in California when bandmates Chet and Drew became roommates at a pivotal time — both embarking on a journey to sobriety that sparked a deep friendship and creative partnership."
Chet has expressed his excitement about releasing new music and starring in the new Netflix series Running Point, his first acting gig. "Ultimately, I consider myself an artist, and acting and music are just two different mediums for being able to express myself," he said in an interview with Esquire. "I've been working on this music for a long time, and so I would like to be touring and finally letting the world hear it."
