Kings of Leon has been forced to cancel a run of summer European tour dates after lead singer Caleb Followill suffered a freak accident while playing with his children.
Followill, 43, announced in an Instagram video on Wednesday, May 28 that he recently broke his foot, and per doctor's orders, can't be on his feet or travel while he recovers.
The "Use Somebody" rockers were set to kick things off in Paris on June 10, and the run of 10 shows would have concluded on July 12 in Portugal.
"Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that those shows will have to be canceled due to a freak accident that happened the other day. Broke my foot pretty bad just playing with my kids," he said in the video. "It's pretty gnarly. I'll spare all the details but we're fortunate enough to have some great doctors here in Nashville that gave me emergency surgery. And I'm on the mend, but they've told me that I can't be on my feet or traveling or anything for the next eight weeks or so. And that's a big bummer, man. We were so excited."
The rocker is dad to son Winston, 6, and daughter Dixie, 12, with his wife, model Lily Aldridge.

Followill, who shattered his heel, according to a statement, will spend the next eight weeks under the care of expert orthopedic specialists. The rocker said that he and his bandmates — including his brothers Nathan and Jared and cousin Matthew Followill — had been preparing for the tour "for a long time," and were looking forward to debuting new songs that they recently recorded.
"We had a lot of exciting things planned, and now we're just gonna have to pivot and find a new way to continue the work that we've started," he said. "I'm very excited when we do get to show you the stuff that we're doing, and in the meantime, we're gonna do whatever work we can while I have these limitations."
Followill later showed his leg in a cast, saying the situation was "no fun."
"I know this isn't the message that anyone wants to hear and it's certainly not the message that I want to be sending," he said. "But it's gonna be alright. Everything's gonna be good and hopefully we'll see y'all soon."
Kings of Leon rescheduled a June show in Paris for Sept. 3, and they currently have three shows at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey with Zach Bryan still scheduled for July 18-20, plus eight more dates in August and September. The band's latest album, Can We Please Have Fun, came out in May 2024.
