Howie Mandel, the beloved judge on America's Got Talent (AGT), has revealed what he tells Simon Cowell after every golden buzzer on the show. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Mandel shared the heartfelt message he shares with his fellow judge and friend.
Mandel, who has been a judge on AGT since season 5, explained that he runs over to his seat behind him and says, "You did this, buddy. You came up with an idea. A lot of us come up with ideas and we want to do TV shows and we want to entertain and we want to get a laugh, but your idea is changing more lives than any one idea on television."
This season, Mandel and Cowell, who created AGT, are joined by Modern Family alum Sofía Vergara and Spice Girls singer Mel B at the judges' table. Terry Crews is also back for a seventh season as host of AGT.
AGT's Milestone 20th Season
Mandel teased that fans are in store for something "bigger, better, more exciting, scarier, more emotional, funnier, more dangerous than it has ever been" in the show's milestone 20th season. He explained that each season raises the bar by people being inspired by what they saw the season before, and being a 20th anniversary, they know it's a special year.
