The Netflix sitcom Tires returned for its second season on June 5, starring Shane Gillis and Steve Gerben as cousins trying to save their family's auto-repair garage, Valley Forge Automotive Center. The season revolves around the fate of the Valley Forge Automotive Center.
Can the Valley Forge Automotive Center be saved? That's the question at the center of season 2 of Tires. Despite Will's best efforts to revitalize the shop, Shane cannot help but poke fun at his cousin and make it more challenging for Will to become a successful businessman. However, when the shop experiences financial burden, he decides to step up and help come up with ideas to save the company.
In another twist, Shane's father Phil (Thomas Haden Church) unexpectedly shows up in an attempt to both help his son with the business and repair their complicated relationship. So, what's the fate of the Valley Forge Automotive Center? Here's everything to know about how Tires season 2 ended.
How did Tires season 2 end?
After changing up parts of the business model in season 1 of Tires, Will is even more determined to make Valley Forge Automotive Center profitable. The season picks up with him initially feeling better after cutting costs and being able to give all of his employees clients. However, after Will's dad, tire shop owner Jon, declines a loan to expand the business, Will is desperate to find a way to make things work.

Meanwhile, Shane's dad, Phil, unexpectedly joins the crew to try and rebuild his complex relationship with Shane. In order to feel closer with his son, Phil, a wealthy businessman, buys Valley Forge from his brother and runs the business with Will and Phil.
Although Shane initially appears as a goofy person who doesn't care as much about the company as his cousin, Will thinks he has potential and constantly encourages him to think about becoming a manager.
What is the fate of Valley Forge Automotive?
The season ends on a vague note, with the three acknowledging that Valley Forge Automotive Center needs some significant changes to thrive. However, they also appear more motivated than ever and dedicated to making the business a success.
Season 2 of Tires ends with the fate of Valley Forge Automotive Center hanging in the balance. Will retains his role of branch manager, while Shane transitions into more of an assistant manager role and stays the new owner.
What happens to Shane, Will, and Cal?
As the sitcom plays out, Shane, Will, and their friend and coworker Cal (O'Connor) all find themselves in different predicaments both personally and professionally.
Throughout the series, Shane is battling his inner desire to maintain his position as a mechanic while also shutting people down when they suggest that he could move up in the company.
In addition to his professional struggles, Shane also has challenges in his personal life with his girlfriend Kelly (Veronika Slowikowska) after he becomes convinced that she cheated on him with one of her coworkers.
Even though Kelly isn't unfaithful, the insecurity causes a fracture in their relationship, and they break up.
