Chris Evans is feeling a little left out of the Marvel party. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Evans expressed his sadness about not being involved in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, set to release in 2026.
"It's sad to not be back with the band, but I'm sure they're doing something incredible, and I'm sure it's going to be that much harder when it comes out and you feel like you weren't invited to the party," Evans said.
Evans' comments come after he denied reports that he would appear in Avengers: Doomsday in January. "That's not true, though," he told Esquire at the time. "I've just stopped responding to it." Evans added that he's "happily retired" from playing Captain America.
Meanwhile, many of Evans' former Avengers costars, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, and Paul Rudd, will appear in Doomsday. The film will also feature the entire cast of Fantastic Four, the recent hit Thunderbolts, and several actors from the X-Men franchise, among others.
Evans recently made a surprise cameo as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine, but he has not appeared in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie since 2019's Endgame.
