Jane Sibbett, known for her iconic roles, has revealed that she felt disconnected from the rest of the cast while filming the beloved 90s family film, It Takes Two. Her over-the-top performance as the gold-digging, scheming Clarice Kensington became a cultural staple, and her portrayal of the villainous step-monster made her feel far removed from the rest of the cast.
Sibbett, who starred alongside Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Kirstie Alley, and Steve Guttenberg, brought a unique approach to the role, delivering a portrayal we'll never forget. From her icy wit to her unforgettable moments, Sibbett's extravagant antagonism made her feel like she was in her own universe," she recalls. "I felt like they [Steve, Kirstie, and the kids] were acting pretty normal, but I was in some other universe, and they seemed to like it."
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Sibbett shared a surprising memento she kept from the film - Clarice's wedding dress. "I actually have Clarice's wedding dress. I was just thinking about that," she adds. "God, I was just thinking that Dior wedding dress is in my closet, and it's in two parts. You know that?"
Sibbett's performance as Clarice was integral to the film's success, delivering a portrayal we'll never forget. Her iconic quote, "'Rough' is a broken nail, darling, what I'm having is a train wreck!" has become a cultural staple.
